16 new zones for lesser eagles and 10 for pygmy owls

In 2016, The Dziedzictwo Przyrodnicze [Natural Heritage] Foundation filed for the creation of 16 new zones for lesser spotted eagles and 10 for pygmy owls. The applications included areas of the Przemyśl Plateau and the Slonne Mountains (also known as the Saltus Carpathians). Currently, it is the only way to not only protect these bird species, but also those last fragments of naturally precious forest areas in the Eastern part of the Polish Carpathians.
